Aspiring software developer attending BYU
Projects & Experiences
Web Developer: BYU Chinese and Arabic Flagships
As a web developer for BYU, I worked on 2 client facing websites using Brightspot and HTML and managed the student database website as well. This included PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL, and Javascript.
Some of my favorite things I did here were build scripts to automate processes such as photo uploading as well as built out a new view which pulled information from the database and displayed it on the webpage so that the use could perform CRUD.
Python Sorter Script
Wanting to deepen my Python skills while learning something useful, I learned how to build a script that sorts files that I download based on their file type.
This is made my life a little easier and it boosted my confidence with Python. I also really enjoyed building something that I can actually use, its a great feeling.
Block Party
Description of project Me and a group of my fellow classmates built an online shopping platform complete with products, a landing page, item based and user based recommendations. The site isn't live anymore but we used ASP.NET for the framework, pandas for the ML portion and Azure for the deployment. Check out the link to the github here.
After my wife and I had our first baby, we started to track her sleep using the Notes app on our iPhones but that got old real quick. I built a simple app using ASP.NET that using HTML and CSS for the frontend and a simple SQLite database on the backend. This one is work in progress so feel free to take a look here.
